Shamrocks To Compete In Toyota-USA Hockey Disabled Hockey National Championship Festival / Adult Co-Ed Team

Monday, April 2, 2018, 1:51PM

For the third consecutive year the Boston Shamrocks Adult Co-Ed Sled Hockey Team will participate in the Toyota-USA Hockey Disabled Hockey National Championship Festival.

USA Hockey, the Central District, and Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois are sponsoring the 14th annual Toyota-USA Hockey Disabled Hockey Festival to be held at the Leaf's Ice Centre in West Dundee, IL. The Festival has taken place in a different area of the country each year with huge success and tremendous growth. The event has become too large to host in a single weekend and it was decided by the USA Hockey Disabled Hockey Section to separate the disabled festival into two separate weekends:

  • April 5 – 8: Blind/Visually Impaired, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Special, Warrior/Standing Amputee
  • April 12 – 15: Sled Hockey

The mission of the Festival is to provide a fun and exciting weekend of hockey in a grand event as well as promote and grow disabled hockey throughout the country. The event is the largest disabled hockey event of its kind. This new format will be able to accommodate more teams, more players and more flexibility.

The Shamrocks will open the Festival on Thursday, April 12 at 4:10 PM versus the Carolina Hurricanes followed on Friday at 6:10 pm with a second Round Robin game against the San Diego Ducks.  The single elimination playoff round begins Saturday morning.
